2015-2016 Superheroes Around the World
Driving Question:
How can we, as scholars, promote the power of reading in our community?
The third graders launched reading and writing learning about how true Superheroes around the world go to great lengths to access an education. After building an awareness, our students wanted to bring the power of reading to their community by constructing a Lending Library. Using the design process, third grade engineering teams created blue prints and vetted their plans to a team of Warren Tech students, who constructed the Library. With guidance and collaboration the vision was brought to life. Today, a Community Lending Library stands just outside Witt STEM as a beacon for the whole community to use. The Lending Library imprints the message of the importance of reading in all our lives.
