As Historians, how do we choose a topic (artifact, picture, event, document, celebration, etc.) to educate our community about Native (First) Americans, and how their history influences or impacts us today?

  • Visited Museum

  • Read and wrote pourquois (fictional narrative that explains why something is the way it is)

  • Background on the Iroquois/Haudenosaunee

  • Learned about four cultural regions: Eastern Woodlands, Great Plains, Southwest and Northwest Coast

  • Guest Speaker: a grandpa from the Diné Nation -- AMAZING!

  • Family History Project connnects our family hertiage with the hertiage of our country-USA

  • Designed a wampum belt telling a personal story

  • Chose an artifact to research and write about
